Yoga Retreats – Exploring New Destination And Stay Fit

Bikram or Hot Yoga as popularly known in US was introduced by Bikram Choudhury. Unlike other forms this form is not very age old. It was found towards the end of 20th century. He is an instructor in India. He taught this exercise to around 3 million aspiring students and later the American Medical Association asked him to bring this concept there in America. It is known as Hot Yoga because the postures in this form of exercise is practiced in a heated room. It basically rejuvenates and strengthens the entire body and mind.

We went surfing. Riding on waves, we experienced the natural beauty of this exquisite land. We savored the local dishes and cuisines and drank cocktails by the sandy beaches as we watched the sun set and shared stories and had a good laugh. I had the time of my life. Literally speaking! It was the best two weeks’ vacation ever!

So I talked to a few of best girlfriends and talked them into taking a mini vacation The girls were all for it. I mean which girl in her right mind will say no to a vacation? The destination: Costa Rica! There was totally no objection to that. From the surf vacations to Yoga Holidays Montezuma and the amazing spas, we were definitely spoilt for choice! So off we went, leaving all craziness behind and searching for the break we all desperately needed.

I am also here to dispel the myth that yoga is a religion – it is most definitely is NOT. The core of it is based on Buddhism but you do not have to be a Buddhist to enjoy and benefit from yoga. The techniques are useful for everyone of all race, ethnic background and religion and no one can force you to utter a single mantra if you did not wish to.

As yoga evolved in India there has been many myths cropping up over the years of what it is exactly entails. Here are what I believe are the top five myths out there.

Take some time off work early enough to make it to the spa. When there, make sure that you try out everything offered by the spa treatment including services like a full body massage, manicure, pedicure, facial mask treatments, or even yoga. There is so much you can do at a spa including putting your feet up and relaxing and busking in the sun as you sip on a cold drink and set aside life’s worries for a couple of hours.

The yoga videos and DVD are available online also and you can search for them and buy them online. There are different levels available in the DVD. So if you are new to the program, you can buy the one that is meant for the beginners. Once you have mastered the basic asana, you can buy higher levels and practice those asanas as well. Alternatively, you can also hire a professional trainer who can help you learn your asanas well and do better. He may be able to guide you better. Once you have learnt the postures, you can get the videos and continue your classes by watching them.
