Time Management For Students – The Answer To Overwhelmed Teenagers

Like many, I have searched for a type of work that I could see myself doing for life and up until my 28th birthday, I had very little success in finding it.

William Glasser in his book “Choice Theory in the Classroom” outlines four basic needs that students have. Failure to satisfy these School management system needs is what leads to misbehavior in the classroom. These four needs are: belonging, freedom, fun and power. Classroom discipline problems can almost always be traced back to the failure to satisfy one or more of these needs. Here is a brief overview of each need.

Anything that needs to be stored is a form of filing. Why not make life much easier? When you receive something, you have to make a choice. Action it, archive it for future retrieval if necessary or throw it out. As a mom, think of all the things you have to keep. It’s hard enough remembering where everything is, let alone trying to find something that another member of the household has put away because they think differently.

A consequence should be implemented even if it means being inconvenienced. It’s an unfortunate fact that effective behaviour Student management system Singapore quite often means you being inconvenienced in the short term. However, if you don’t deal with problem behaviour you’ll waste far more of your time in the long term – and you won’t see any improvements in behaviour either!! A lose, lose situation… Do it properly and it works!

Acknowledging their contributions in front class, as long as it was an educated guess, even when it’s not correct academically. Somehow I demonstrate/describe a benefit from their work.

The last school I taught at was a Catholic college. As a sub, I took many Religious Education classes and during some of these the concept of God’s unconditional love came up.

The school is also planning to give a laptop each one of us. Thank god, this will reduce my burden of copying the notes given during my absence in the school. I can just ask my friend to send an e-mail with an attached document consisting the entire day’s work. All I have to do is copy and save the document and my work is done.
