With all the hype over Facebook and Twitter, LinkedIn is a powerful social network that seems to be neglected by those looking to increase their customer base. If you haven’t already, it’s time to set up an account and take advantage of all it has to offer.
You could connect your Twitter and Buy Aged LinkedIn Accounts With real Connections – though take care to ensure that the content you syndicate from Twitter to LinkedIn is relevant for your network there.
11. Twitter: ugh. Yes, LinkedIn will allow you to stream your tweets into your profile. I say ugh because I caution you as this can become annoying. I am not a fan of this feature as I find it clutters the page as most tweets are inane at best and often times out of context and offer no real value. Each person is different and it might work for you but I would exercise caution here.
Connections. The next step is to connect to others. First of all connect to your friends, family and acquaintances. Often, the social media sites will provide suggestions for you – use them. These are your first trusted connections. Then connect with others who are in your niche. So follow their Tweets, Facebook and Google+ pages.
However, not engaging with others makes social media pointless. Your whole purpose of making accounts is to interact and gain valuable clients, potential clients and/or connections. You need to go past the general “hello” to make this work.
Participate in groups. There are groups for any and every purpose. Small business groups will put you in connection with a number of like-minded entrepreneurs. There are also industry specific groups that will allow you to find those in the same business. Start group discussions, and participate in others’ group discussions. If you like another person’s answer, let them know, and follow them. Keep talking.
When innocently driving your car you do not want to fall victim of a blameless, harmless, guiltless traffic violation trap. In my area there is a 45 mile speed limit coming down a rapidly descending mile long steep hill. Then the pavement abruptly hits level ground, city limits, and a 25 mph speed limit all at the same time. Unless you plan well in advance, you are caught. Then without logic you are held accountable and at fault for speeding and placed in the wrong for reckless driving by the traffic cop ambush.
Pull together steps 1 and 2 above to create your own marketing strategy; that way you always know what you need to do next. You’re not constantly second-guessing yourself, and you are in charge of your business.
